We live in a “push button” society where everything is on instant demand. For example, there’s smart phones, we have them in our hands even as we speak, we have everything at our fingertips so we don’t have to take the time to even login to our computers and then wonder why we are tired, weary, not seeing our dreams fulfilled and our passions utilized.

Often, we place God in this category and through that, expect in an instant; our prayers to be answered; immediately; without hesitation. And when they are not, God is not for us. He doesn’t hear us. He is punishing us, and the list goes on.

Let’s take a breather, while I share a story with you…

I was in a religious doctrine that suffocated you with legalistic ideologies. God placed me under the care of an amazing couple that had led thousands to salvation. They started a church in Rockwall where I placed my blood, sweat, and tears in. Through much prayer, teachings, and unconditional love, I was able to break free from religion. It was a process. It was NOT instant. I had my homework for sure. During that process, I was shown and had experienced things that I would have never thought possible. I was shown the Grace of God, that He is for me and not waiting to cast judgement on me as soon as I did something wrong. That through Him, ALL things are possible…He is our advocate!

A lot of great things happened in the 9 years I was there. I was nurtured and loved but then, my journey took a turn.

The church closed and there I was again, trying to find my purpose. What was this journey about anyways? Who was I suppose to become? Was I made for something more than just existing? I knew down deep that there was something more. I wasn’t satisfied where I was, nor with my relationship with God.

Soon, afterwards, God placed me under another amazing couple and through that I grew even more. I needed to be perfected in God’s love, so the journey continued. It has been a year since then and here I am again, feeling a stirring inside of me that I cannot find the words to explain!

All of this time, it has been God’s same plan. God’s same purpose for my life. The paths of my journeys connecting and life continues. The past eleven years have been a process; I won’t lie, but the outcome is going to be so amazing, I cannot fathom!

Let me ask you this…

  1. Are you content where you are in Christ?
  2. Are you taking time and allowing “the process” to perfect you?
  3. Are you waiting on Gods timing and allowing His plan for you to unfold or are you cutting corners and expecting Him to bless it anyways?
When God makes you wait, it’s not a punishment. God makes you wait to perfect you, because His plan for you is PERFECT! It is strategically thought out. He has the right people, with the right resources and the right circumstances…We just have to slow down and endure the process!
When God makes you wait, it is because He loves you and He sees you as so much more than you are today!
