Choosing Faith

For those of you who don’t know me, I am an author, a wife, a mother of two beautiful children, and a MiMi of one precious boy! I work a full time job plus small businesses on the side. My world is completely full and I am usually all the time productive.

For decades of my life I was tormented by fear, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, and intimidation. I did not have a close relationship with God neither did I know where I fit in to this equation we call life. It wasn’t until I wrote Perfect Love that God helped me to see where fear was instilled into me. For me, it started at age 9! Fear of not having enough because I lived in poverty. Fear of trusting people because of the brokenness and betrayal I’ve experienced. Fear of dying because I’ve sat and watched cancer wither the flesh until it was no more! 

So let’s talk about the impact that this epidemic has made. I know that most of you have been watching the news and can probably tell me everything that is currently happening whether it be truth or false. But I want to take you a little deeper if you will let me. With Gods help and anointing, I would like to show you the spiritual realm of what’s happening.

Look around, fear is all around you. Selfish ambitions. Isolation. Losing jobs. Not having enough. Pointing the fingers at who’s to blame.

Can I tell you these things are a breeding ground of the enemy! See, all he has to do is plant little seeds here and there and then watch us self-destruct!

Where is our faith? Are we as Christians and followers of Christ so shallow with our Sunday morning living and God is good verbiage that we are not able to stand in times like these? Self evaluate right now of how you’ve responded to the crisis? No one is looking…just you and God. Deep breath in, exhale out…and ask yourself, am I living in faith or fear? When I say fear, I’m not talking about a healthy fear or a concern for what’s happening. I’m talking about a debilitating, unhealthy fear. Where worry, anxiety, and panic sets in!

If your answer was faith, great! But if your answer was fear, keep reading!

This type of fear is from a spirit. The Bible says in II Timothy 1:7, that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Did you catch that last part…sound mind! I know when I was tormented by fear, my mind was anything but sound! But there is hope! I come with good news! The good news of Jesus Christ!

Jesus loves you friend. Right where you are! Even in your doubt and unbelief. There’s not anything that you can say or do, or don’t say or do to cause Him to love you any more or less than He does right now! Why? Because He IS love! He wants nothing more than to have a close, intimate, relationship with you!

You are His masterpiece. His prize possession! He loves you so much that He came to this crooked and perverse world to save those which was lost. He did this by His sacrifice on the cross! He died friend, but I’m so glad it doesn’t end there…see there is hope! He rose from the dead and is alive! He has sent the Holy Spirit to live inside of us. To comfort us. To give us peace. To calm to storm that rages.

If you’ve asked Christ to come into your heart, He is there, right now even as you’re reading this! If you’ve never asked Christ to come, you can do that right now. Just say, Lord Jesus, I ask You to come into my life. Take my sins, and by Your grace, I take your righteousness. I make you the Lord of my life, I give you all that I am, I hold nothing back. In Jesus name, amen.

So now, it doesn’t stop here! Now you are equipped to move forward! See, it is impossible to overcome the spirit of fear without God. He is the one that has overcame it all and it’s through Him, that we too can live in victory!

We don’t fight for victory but FROM victory! We do this by building our declarations. Picking up the Word of God and fighting while resting in Him! It’s a choice to refuse to allow fear to control your thoughts and instead, choosing to stand firm in Gods Word!

Can I pray for you right now?

Heavenly Father, we just love You. Right now, we lift our voices in a praise of thankfulness. We are so thankful for Your sacrifices and that You’ve loved us enough, You’ve made a way of escape from the enemies trap! I bind every spirit of fear, anxiety, and intimidation and I release joy, peace, and wholeness in Jesus name. We plead Psalm 91 over our home and our lives. Surround us with a hedge of protection. Let no harm or plague come near to our dwelling. For a thousand will fall at our side, and ten thousand at our right hand, but it WILL NOT come near us! No weapon will be formed against us and prosper. We stand and declare Your love reigns Lord! In Jesus name, amen!
